Rate Changelog

We refresh the default rate every week and record each change here, so the word 'live' in our name is something you can verify.

The default rate on this site is the national weekly average from the Freddie Mac Primary Mortgage Market Survey. Freddie Mac publishes it every Thursday, and an automated job updates the site shortly after. The current figure was last refreshed on July 2026.

How the update works

A scheduled job pulls the latest 30-year and 15-year averages from the Federal Reserve's FRED feed, which mirrors the Freddie Mac survey, and commits the new figures. That commit rebuilds the site, so the rate you see is never more than a week behind the source. We never fetch rates in your browser, and the figures are national averages, not a quote for you.
